Get to know Dr. Kim

Rev. Dr. Kim McElroy-Jones is a preacher, teacher, mother, wife, builder, mentor, coach, and leader. Dr. Kim earned her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Indiana University - Purdue University at Indianapolis in 2001. In addition, she earned a Master of Science degree in Adult Education from IU Indianapolis in 2004 and a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Southern Indiana in 2013. Dr. McElroy-Jones also earned a Ph.D. in Organization and Management at Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  In 2015, she graduated with her second doctorate degree, a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Kim has been a member of Eastern Star Church for almost 30 years. She was ordained in 2016 by Pastor Jeffrey A. Johnson, Sr.Dr. Kim is currently the Director of Community Partnerships for Community Health at Eskenazi Health. She is also a Board Member of the United Northeast CDC, Board Treasurer of the Indiana Healthy Marriage and Family Coalition, a board committee member of Children’s Bureau, Inc. and is Past Board Chair and Current Board Member of the Avondale Meadows YMCA. She is also a member Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. serving as Chaplain. Dr. Kim is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and she is very passionate about improving the quality of life of others and seeing souls saved from sin into a rewarded righteous relationship with God. Dr. Kim is married to Reuben A. Jones and the mother of two children, Dr. Shanniese Rice and Joshua Jones. She is also grandmother to Mason Rice.
